Boryeong Mud Festival (South Korea)
This festival is easily one of the largest messy ones in the whole world, attracting over 1 million people. As the name suggests, it revolves around pelting people with mud. The good side is that the mud is rich in minerals that are great for the skin.
World Custard Pie Championship (UK)
This started in the year 1967 and was inspired by one of Charlie Chaplin’s movies. The custard pie is not meant to be eaten during this festival. Rather they are made up of special fillings that make them more effective for hurling than eating.
Punkin Chunkin (US)
This festival is held in Delaware every year right after the Halloween celebration. It revolves around tossing pumpkins at the longest possible distance by using several forms of artillery.
La Tomatina (Spain)
During La Tomatina festival, thousands of tomatoes are thrown by people at each other. The result is that the participants look like they are bleeding yet happy about it. For the safety of participants, the tomatoes are supposed to be squished first before being thrown and that makes the whole activity even more messy.
Lopburi Monkey Banquet (Thailand)
Every year around fall, the monkey of this Thai capital are treated with a huge feast, thus the name monkey banquet. However, the event is usually turned into a huge food fight among the animals.
